"Don't let them drag you down. Don't let them fuck you around. When it all seems like it's lost, stay up! Stray true to the end. Times might be hard with your back to the wall, stay up! No matter what the cost, no matter what the loss, stay firm hold on, stay up. When all hope is gone, STAY UP!" - 25 ta Life

Under aged and under raged
I managed to obtain some extra time off this past weekend which I thoroughly enjoyed. I went to Bloomington to visit my girlfriend. Her roommate was throwing a party for one of his friends. It was her 19th birthday. Around midnight the party was in full swing and I just looked around the apartment at all the people. Most of the people in attendance were underaged, and drunk beyond reason. Most of the conversations I heard were about the previous weekend's parties and the parties going on the next weekend. It seems as though all these people cared about was getting drunk and not caring about anything at all. As I looked around and became aware that I stuck out like a turd in a punch bowl I thought to myself, "These people are walking zilches. They don't give a shit about anything but parties, gossip, and facebook." I don't care that they were mostly underaged and drinking, but the true crime is the general since of indifference. I hate the fact that people are not aware of anything outside of their personal lives. Not only are they ignorant but they are content. The mediocrity of people eats at my conscience. I encourage everyone to get involved with something productive and stop being a brainless bastard. Get involved and get pissed!

Nature walks
I just returned from a 5 mile walk along the roads in my "neck of the woods." I was born, raised, and continue to live in a rural area where everybody knows everybody. During my walk I couldn't help but ponder my interesting situation in life. I exist in both realms of rural and urban life. My background of course comes from the gritty "country life" where simplistic ideas of living exist. But at the same time I am intermingled with the urban fast pace lifestyle and academic endeavor. I wonder if the mixture can persist or if one aspect of my life will consume the other.

Learn to laugh
I know most people now are stressed out because of the current economic conditions. However, when people have a lack of money and resources they quickly become bored. In order to entertain themselves people can be quite clever. So for all of you out there reading who are having a bad day, cheer up. Cause some harmless humor and smile.

Recently in our lives
I think Professor Ramey's 60Minutes virus was a big old hoax because I have yet to see any planes fall from the sky. My bank is still in business. The major cities in the world aren't burning to the ground. There is no looting of any sort. All in all I'd say it's a total upset. I was looking forward to seeing our fragile world collapse around us. But, there is still hope. The day isn't quite over and there are plenty more computer viruses to be made. So, we must remain hopeful that someday, somehow the Russians will conquer the western imperialist dogs. Goodnight, and good luck.

To my reader(s)
Quite honestly I don't have much to write about this week. I have been to busy sticking my nose into a book or rendering paint for my studio course. This week and the week prior have made me realize that school is not intended to educate people. It is intended to make people slowly lose their mind. With that said, I will aimlessly wander around for the remainder of this week and hope that the following week will bring some element of relief.

Zombies!
During January's snow storm of the year I had the unfortunate opportunity to watch a lot of news programs. I generally hate watching the news begins it is always doom and gloom and how the economy is in such a horrible condition. However, one day there was a brief relief from the business world apocalypse! Some pranksters in Georgia managed to hack into the computer system of several electronic road information signs. The signs went from displaying traffic information to displaying "Zombies in area! Run!" and "Beware! Nazi Zombies!" The media coverage quickly caught my attention and for a brief moment, I felt like I was in some sort of utopian frame of mind where there existed people in the world who actually have a good sense of humor. Not only do these vigilantes have a good sense of humor they also have the gumption to commit such a wonderful act of hilarity! I'm sure whoever the people were are either being severely punished or are thinking back and laughing about what they have done. Or quite possibly they are doing both and enjoying it. I say more power to the people who do such things to relieve some of the tension in this world. I'd like to meet the people who did the sign alterations and buy them a soda and enjoy some good laughs. Bottoms up to you free thinkers out there!
